It’s the annual Sakura Matsuri (cherry blossom festival) at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.  Last year I followed along with BBG’s online cherry blossom tracker from Afghanistan, and I longed for a place where people crowd in to celebrate and ogle at blooming flowers.  Given all the unpleasantries and hard times happening across the planet, drawing crowds with flowers is a pretty amazing thing.  Great to be part of it this year.  Performance of the festival: the impressive and charming all-girl Zakuro Chindon Band.
